The WCPL offers visitors a pleasant, entertaining, educational and exciting adventure. Materials can be checked out at either of two levels; and e-books can be accessed throughout the Library’s web site. The Library is handicapped accessible. The Children’s Dept. offers books and movies, computers for Internet and word processing. There are regularly scheduled programs of stories, music and puppets for babies through preschoolers and summer programs for school-age youth and teens. Special programs include the family-friendly Library Sci-Fi CON. Adult services at the library include books and movies, an extensive reference collection and computers offering word processing and Internet access. One on one computer instruction is available by appointment and classes are offered monthly. Study tables are located in the upper level. Adult programs, such as Wilkes Reads Together, author visits, informational lectures, and musical presentations occur throughout the year. The local History room offers a superior collection of family history materials from Wilkes County and surrounding states collected by the Wilkes Genealogy Society.
